Experience the Wonder of Goa – India’s Tropical Paradise

Experience the Wonder of Goa – India’s Tropical Paradise.

Goa is one of India’s most popular tourist destinations and with good reason. Situated on the west coast, this beautiful coastal state offers stunning beaches, beautiful nature and rich culture, making it an ideal location for a relaxing holiday or a more active adventure. Whether you’re looking for a weekend getaway in a tropical paradise, or an extended stay with the chance to explore, Goa has something for everyone.

Goa’s stunning beaches have long been a major draw for tourists and most visits include a trip to the shoreline. The beautiful white sandy curves of North Goa’s sandy havens invite many to just throw down their towels and take in the view. Even though the days get hot in Goa, in the months from October to February, the water is pleasant and there is plenty of opportunity to enjoy a swim or snorkeling session. Popular spots are Colva and Palolem beach.

The Architecture of Goa is a wonderful mix of ancient churches, unique museums and a fort. Old Goa is the main point of interest and includes UNESCO World Heritage sites like the Basilica de Bom Jesus and the Se Cathedral all worth visiting and exploring. The architecture of the region is a unique combination of Indo-Portuguese and Hindu styles, particularly evident in the churches.

Goa caters to a variety of different travelers and adventurers, from the more adrenaline-minded, who love to go white water rafting, to the more relaxed who just want to check out the local markets and beach bars. This rich variety is part of what makes Goa so special for visitors, there’s never a dull moment here!

For shoppers, the markets of Goa have something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for handcrafted goods or local flavors, you’re sure to find something that you’ll treasure for a long time to come. The Anjuna Flea Market offers antiques and jewelry as well as clothes and CDs and is open on Wednesday. Other popular spots in Goa include the Mapusa Friday Market, the Calangute Market Square, and the Arpora Night Bazaar.

The seafood in Goa is legendary. You’ll find all kinds of fish, such as pomfret, mackerel, kingfish, and sea bass among others. Local Goan cuisine is a combination of Indian and Portuguese influences and many famous dishes originate here. Dishes include vindaloo (spicy pork curry), xacuti (chicken and coconut curry), and pollo de safan (fried fish). There is plenty of Indian and international cuisine available too, so whatever takes your fancy, it’s sure to be found in Goa.

The great thing about Goa is that it is an all year round destination, from its equally beautiful winter months with cool temperatures and intense sunshine, to its humid summer months with temperatures in the 30s. No matter when you decide to visit Goa, whatever your style or preference, you’re sure to have a fantastic experience.
