“Life Changing Vacations, How Santorini, Greece Changed Mine.”
It was only 3 years ago I started the journey which would get me to the Greek Island of Santorini, located in the Aegean Sea. Little did I know how much this one week trip, would change my life forever.
When I arrived in Santorini, I was instantly awe-struck by the sheer beauty of the island. Surrounded by the crystal clear waters of the Aegean and dazzling white-washed buildings atop the caldera, Santorini is truly straight out of a fairytale. Everywhere I looked I was met with stunning panoramic vistas of the blue and turquoise ocean, towering cliffs and jaw-dropping sunsets.
Although I had visited many other areas of Greece before, I was amazed by the excellent food available in Santorini. From the classic Greek gyro and souvlaki to fresh fish and seafood, there was something for everyone. What I was struck by too was the hospitality of the locals, who were as delightful as the food they served.
As I explored the island by day, I discovered some magnificent spots. From classic landmarks such as the iconic Oia Church to unique archaeological sites, Santorini is full of surprises and adventures. You can easily while away days just gazing at the view or taking the cable car down the steep cliffs – a thrilling experience if ever there was one.
My days in Santorini quickly passed and before I knew it, it was time for me to leave. As I packed away my things and said goodbye to the locals, I reflected on the profound effects that visiting the enchanted island had on me.
The experiences and lessons I had encountered during my time on Santorini will stay with me forever and have truly changed my life for the better. The stunning landscape, delicious food and warm atmosphere only underscored why I believe Santorini is one of the best places in the world. On my visit to Santorini, I gained a greater appreciation for the culture and life of Greece, as well as new memories that will bring a smile to my face whenever I think back.
