“The Heart of Asia: Exploring the Best of Bangkok, Thailand!”

Situated at the mouth of the Chao Phraya River, Bangkok has established itself as a major Asian metropolis. Bangkok is the capital and most populous city of Thailand, boasting a variety of attractions, both ancient and modern. From glamorous malls, rooftop bars and traditional floating markets, to ornate temples, vibrant nightlife and street food, Bangkok cram packs more than enough for an unforgettable and diverse experience.

One of Bangkok’s most recognisable landmarks is the iconic Grand Palace and the Wat Phra Kaew, located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. Built in 1782, the Grand Palace is a spectacular complex of temples, pavilions and amazing ornamental dragon-style spires. The interior is equally awe-inspiring, with its numerous decorated rooms filled with emblems and statutes that tell the story of the Thai royal family. Wat Phra Kaew is located within the complex and is widely considered to be one of the most important and holiest Buddhist temples in Thailand.

For an insight into life outside the city centre, visitors should explore one of the many traditional floating markets in Bangkok. Daw Bondin is the largest and most famous of these markets and offers riverside vendors selling all manner of fruits, vegetables, and souvenirs. There are also several local restaurants where visitors can sample typical Thai dishes such as spicy Chiang Mai noodles and curries.

No visit to Bangkok would be complete without taking in one of its famous rooftop bars. SévéRé Bangkok is one of the city’s best-known rooftop bars, set high on the 40th floor of one of Bangkok’s tallest buildings. From this vantage point, visitors can enjoy stunning views over the neighbouring skyscrapers, although the cocktails tend to be quite expensive.

When it comes to nightlife in Bangkok, there is no shortage of options. Tourists can choose to stay on the ground and explore one of the many beer bars that adorn the Khao San Road area, or venture a little further afield and enjoy the rooftop bars or nightclubs of Silom and Thong Lor. The city also offers a wide range of live music from international DJs and bands in venues across the capital.

For a unique and more relaxed way to explore Bangkok, visitors should take a leisurely stroll along the River of Kings. From the old city centre near Banglamphu to the more contemporary neighbourhoods of Thonburi and Rattanakosin, there is much to buy, explore and admire as you move up and down the river banks.

From religious epicentres to world-renowned nightlife, from contemporary shopping experiences to local markets, Bangkok truly is the heart of Asia. With its rich culture and diverse range of attractions, Bangkok offers something for everyone and is sure to leave a lasting impression of its diverse beauty.
